How it all began...

Thomas, a close friend who lives in Thailand, lost his family in the 2005 Christmas tsunami. Searching for good amidst the tragedy, he discovered Biorock, the reef restoration process championed by Dr. Thomas Goreau. After some convincing on his part, I grabbed my camera and journeyed to Indonesia to learn about saving our coral reefs. But the story didn't end there. My education about the perilous state of hard corals brought me back to Florida, where I followed another restoration process developed by Ken Nedimyer in Key Largo. Trips to Kosrae and Australia followed, as I sought out healthy corals in an effort to explain what is going on with our coral reefs.

A huge thank you to David Hannan and the folks at Plankton Productions in Australia. After learning of my project and the difficulty I was having in procuring bleaching footage, David was kind enough to offer me access to his video library. It is that kind of kindred spirit that, when I find it, buoys me and injects motivation into my daily efforts towards finishing. That kind of generosity - hours of footage - goes beyond my expectations. I like to think of Plankton Productions as more than a sponsor or benefactor, but as a partner in the effort to educate the world in this last planetary gasp...

David, Pete and the whole crew down under -- most heartfelt thanks for your contribution to my film. Thanks to you, I can properly illustrate the phenomenon with a thousand times more impact.

Please visit Plankton Productions website at http://www.planktonproductions.com.au, and check out David's fantastic documentaries including Coral Sea Dreaming, Crown of Thorns Starfish, and Ningaloo. They are truly awesome in scope and presentation.
